4/7/12: One of three Black Patch Bandits I caught switching the west end of Bensenville Yard. A pleasure to hear turbo-charged 645 PMs !!!!

I didn't think there were many Bandits left. It is nice to see the old Milwaukee scheme, even if it is pretty worn. Used to get those through Fond du Lac occasionally on the Wisconsin Central.

I love these classic MILW bandits. Isn't this place by O'Hare?

I have Bandit SD40-2s from the late 80s even. Yes, just south of O-Hare. I was there Sunday and Caught a SOO painted GP38-2... getting rare!

I think I stay at a hotel by there. I found a GTW GP9R at the now-abandoned intermodal yard there.

I grew up a couple blocks from the heart of the Bensenville Ex-Milwaukee Road/Ex-Soo/ now CP rail yard. The Mannheim bridge gave it away :D
I have a few night shots from this location in my deviations.

Cool! Just like I used to live right by Hawthorne and Cicero Yards! My father worked at B-Ville until 1972!

Very cool. That means he worked at the Bensen Yard during the era of the /massive/ diesel shops there :D

Yep...and he worked at Galewood too when that was a bigger yard. I remember riding in an FM switcher cab when I was 5 or so...It was so cool! 42 years later I still remember it vividly! And in the 80s I took pix of the diesel shop before it was destroyed!
