4/21/89: Cicero Yard! My fav place growing up!!!! Another staple besides SD9s were the ubiquitous SW1000s (another thing long gone :() Here a pair bring in a transfer run on the Ogden Ave side...note the trucks heading into tje intermodal terminal...now Cicero Yard is all (yawn) intermodal!

Cleveland in some respects is a Port Town for those awesome Great Lakes Steamer Ships :D Have you seen those things out of the water? Massive! :o

I love how the tracks border along the road with no fencing or anything. It creates a very gritty industrial scene I just love, almost like the gravel under the tracks just melt into the road

Manifests go right to the Belt Railway Company at Clearing Yard or are run-throughs...also Eola a flat switching yard near Aurora handles a lot of traffic. Cicero is mainly intermodal and autoracks.
