12/3/12: Interesting power on the Chili Sub! The Galesburg Run powered by a tri-clops pair of SD60Ms along with the usual B40-8Ws! On a 72 degree December evening!
if one looks closely, they'll see that the second dash 8 is a warbonnet.
Looks like there's still some fight left in these girls! And check out the lead unit: she has the same number as the original NS heritage unit!
Loving this consist! Hell yeah, dude!!!
As far as I can tell (as pper FLICKR), I'm the only one so far to catch the SD60Ms leading B40-8Ws.
I've never seen a "dash -9" style loco with bnsf green
Thanks! I hear they've been regulars on this job for a while now.
Maybe I'll get to see them one day
I've been seeing them switching Cicero Yard!
Really, I'll have to get out there soon to check it out. Thanks for the heads up.
From Laramie Ave Bridge...It is fenced but there are openings by the streetlight towers. Or possibly Cicero Ave. Metra Stop.
Wow! Those triclops BN locomotives are getting very rare.. Seeing two? You bastard!
They brought a few out of the deadline and have been running out of Hodgkins, when I saw some shots on FLICKR I knew I needed to get there. I was pretty amazed!
Let's face it.. UP is still running their SD60Ms on mainline trains because they are proving their worth unlike the new crap which while horsepower effective is not as reliable because its all computerized including the horn.
