Description
8/23/97: Ash Crossing Chicago, IL; Like a mini Blue Island (sorta). 4 bridges cross the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal. From left to right (west to east), long abandoned Pennsylvania Railroad "Panhandle line", B & OCT, and Conrail (CR&I). Now of course CSX and Norfolk Southern.
This is a view north from Ash Crossing showing two of the abandoned bridges, The one on the left so abandoned that trees are growing where the tracks were!
